The College of Law Practice Management has inducted Daniel B. Rodriguez, Dean and Harold Washington Professor at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, as a Fellow in its Class of 2018. Induction into the Fellowship program is given to “law practice management specialists who consistently exemplify the highest professional standards and achievements,” according to the College. Fellows in each class are nominated by their peers and elected by the College Board of Trustees, and they represent law firms, academic institutions, and professional associations. Dean Rodriguez is one of 43 inductees for 2018, all of whom were appointed due to their sustained contribution to the field.
Dean Rodriguez has served as Dean and Harold Washington Professor of Northwestern Law since 2012. He has served as president of the Association of American Law Schools, and is presently the chair of the AALS Deans’ Steering Committee. He is a council member of the American Law Institute and a member of the advisory board of the American Bar Association Center on Innovation. Dean Rodriguez is also the host of Planet Lex, the Northwestern School of Law podcast, and serves as an advisor to ROSS Intelligence, Inc. Before joining Northwestern, Dean Rodriguez served as Minerva House Drysdale Regents Chair in Law at the University of Texas-Austin; as a Research Fellow at Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy; as Dean and Warren Distinguished Professor of Law at the University of San Diego School of Law; and, as a Professor of Law at University of California, Berkeley School of Law.
Mark Cohen, a Distinguished Fellow at Northwestern Law’s Center for Practice Engagement and Innovation, and Dan Linna, Jr., who will join Northwestern Law as a visiting professor for the 2018-2019 academic year, were also inducted into the 2018 class.
