A Northwestern Pritzker School of Law team won the inaugural Startup LawMeet, an interdisciplinary competition for students interested in a transactional practice specifically involving entrepreneurial companies.

Francisco Gallegos Hoyos (MSL), Ryan Scott Genkin (JD-MBA ‘19), and Laura McJilton (JD ‘18) successfully competed in the national championships held at the Palo Alto offices of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati on March 24. The team was one of twelve from across the country to be invited to the finals. The Startup LawMeet is the first of the LawMeet competitions to invite graduate level students of multiple disciplines to work on teams, as they would in a real-world workplace setting.

Professors Esther Barron, director of the Donald Pritzker Entrepreneurship Law Center (DPELC), and Darren Green coached the team.
