On Thursday, October 3, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) and Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) will hold live hearings at Northwestern Law.
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) partners with select law schools throughout the country to present these live stadium tour events, which include trademark opposition hearings and AIA (America Invests Act) proceedings.
The October 3 program will consist of trial and ex parte appeals proceedings for both PTAB and TTAB. Law students will introduce the proceedings, and judges will participate in panel discussions in between hearings. The event is an opportunity for current and prospective patent and trademark attorneys to hear feedback from judges on what makes for successful advocacy before the boards.
The proceedings are free and open to the public. Registration is requested. Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits will be offered.
