On Friday, May 13, 713 graduates from 42 places around the globe joined faculty, family, and friends for the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law’s 2022 convocation ceremony at the Chicago Theatre.
For the third year in a row, a team from the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law has won the Midwest regional of the National Trial Competition.
Garrett Fields (JD ‘18) and Kelyn Smith (JD ‘19) were undefeated in four rounds, besting teams from Notre Dame, John Marshall, and Loyola University. Fields, who was on the team that won the national competition last year, was also named the competition’s top advocate.
The team was coached by Rick Levin, of Levin Riback Adelman & Flangel. Northwestern Law teams coached by Levin have won four of the last five Midwest regionals.
Fields and Smith will travel to Austin, Texas in April to defend Northwestern Law’s national title.
